this week i learned pressing the save button does not post something on this web site . there is not anything i really want to learn. i was happy how my knetic type project turned out, i think it looks good. um and the only thing that made me mad was when key framing a word in my project it would not stop moving and is still do not know why it was doing that.

1) I learned that Gollum  is made using motion capturing and not CGI. I thought he was just cgi but he is actually a 3d Model following the movements of an actor in a special suit.
2) Second I learned that this technique is also used to make trolls, orcs and the goblin king. It was smart to make most of the things with technique so they look similar and lifelike.
3) lastly I learned that this technique is also used to make expressions. This is intresting because than they would also use it for lip sinking which i can imagine is not easy.

But what i want to know is does this movie take place before or after the lord of the ring movies? 

LOOK OUT THAT CHIMP HAS A GUN

1) I learned that there are companies out there that all they do i help advertise online videos. I find that weird because why would some one pay for a video to get more views, I can understand if like a major film company does it with a trailer but id doesn't make sense for a single pearson to use it.
2) Second I learned that this company charges  $.10-$.15 per view now that does not seem like a lot but if you look at the chimp video it has  25,367,423 views thats $2,536,742.30- $3,805,113.45 for that video alone. That is ridiculous and this video has no meaning at all it is just a funny little video of a chimp shooting a gun.
3) Lastly I learned that do get you video views all they do is put up ads on other sights, You can easily do that your self for 1% of the cost to have the company to do it. So this is just for lazy film companys.

I just want to know what does the chimp video have to do with planet of the apes?

This week I learned some useful things just by working on my type project. I want to learn some more on particle systems, but i will just watch tutorials. Nothing really made me mad this week, Though this week i was glad to start applying to colleges.

Avengers

1) First I learned that Marvel is doing a thing where the movies have something in common and than they make a movie that ties them all together.
2) I learned that Sony has control over spider man, and fox over the fantastic 4 and X-Men
3) Lastly I learned that They are making a Guardians of the Galaxy Movie

I cant wait to till the Guardians of the Galaxy movie comes out just because Rocket Raccoon Is one of the funniest heroes ever.

I just want to know who will be joining the avengers teem in the next movie?

3) Lastly I learned that while making this movie they took in account real mythology, and didn't just modernize everything.

In my opinion this looks like a well made movie with an interesting story, And from reading this and watching some trailers i think i will watch it when it comes to netflix.

This week I learned a bunch about aftereffects. I still want to learn more on the 3D aspects of aftereffects. This week i was happy to have some good ideas for my kinetic type project. But i was mad i could not figure out some of the stuff for particle effects.

TWILIGHT REALLY. If that did not get the point across than i will explain. I HATE TWILIGHT, I believe that those movies should have ended like Van helsing or an episode of Super Natural, with a vampire beheaded or as a pile of dust.
1) i learned that twilight has actually ruined lifes. REALLY, thats just another reason to burn all the books and movies.
2)I learned that some people actually get addicted to these sorry excuses for vampires and werewolf movies/books
3)Last I learned is that mothers are using the books to explain the facts of life to there daughters, WOW just wow how dumb to you have to be.

It this point you know my opinion  

My question is why do people let something this stupid effect their life's?

1)Well first i learned that there is going to be a stop motion sponge bob Christmas special. 
2)second i learned that it is created to be very accurate to the 2D world.
3)lastly i learned that Plankton's plan in this is based of Fruit cake, FRUIT CAKE come on that's so stupid. 

 I think doing a 3D version of sponge bob is really smart because it is something new for that franchise, and it will also attract the older fans as well as the younger ones.

The only question i have is how long have the been working this?

another week

well this week i learned the basics of After effects and i like the program so far. I want to learn more on animation in this program but that will come next week. This week i was glad to get some of the footage done for my documentary and to figure out i should be able to finish it on Monday. The only thing that made me unhappy this week is that i have been sick and just going home and falling asleep, but i feel better now so i can get some things done this weekend.

Dead Water

Well first thing that i learned from this article is that Chesapeake Bay is 40% dead. That is weird in my mind, how can water be considered dead? Is it like 40% of the animals that live in it dead or is it 40% toxic materials and 60%water? The second thing i learned is there is an isopod in Chesapeake Bay which is kind of scary because is could evolve int something like the movie one day. The last thing i learned was that Even if you make an expensive cameras footage look bad it will still look fake. This kind of means that some times its better to use the cheap gear to get the effect you are looking for.

Color vision

Well first I learned that there is many different forms of color blind. I always thought there was just one form of it where you saw everything as shades of gray. The second thing i learned is that the main colors that color blind people can not see are green, red, orange, brown, pink, and light blue, I just thought that they could not see any color at all. The last big thing that i learned is that they are producing glasses that will let these people see these colors again. This is a huge innovation in the scientific world. To be able to give someone the gift of seeing color again is amazing. Personalty i was thinking of saving up and buying my uncle Billy a pair because i know he is color blind and it does affect his life from time to time. I am just wondering how these glasses exactly work? 

This week I learned that you should have a second plan for a project, so if you cant get footage you still have a back up plan. I still want to learn after effects and to do the fight sequence project we were told about. This week the only thing that got me down is that i was not able to get much footage at Roswell because of the hipaa laws but what can you do. This week i was happy to found out that we are doing a fight sequence project, because i have so many ideas for it.

Disney STOP BUYING THINGS

well the first thing i learned is that Disney bought Lucasfilm. NO this is not ok, They are going to mess with everything. I would not be shocked at all to see mickey in the next starwars film. That leads into the second thing i learned, Disney is making a new starwars film. Again not cool disney. Lastly i learned that when Disney bought Lucasfilm they bought the rights to many video games too. So im expecting a bunch of crap games to come out soon, I mean Disney has made some good games like Spectrobes...... that is the only one i can think of.

voice acting article

The first thing i learned from this article is that Frank Welker played the monkey in Aldin. I never would have thought that that character would have a voice actor. The second thing i learned was that  Seth MacFarlane made American dad as well as the The Cleveland Show. That means he has a week to make 3 22 minute shows.This is crazy because each requires a lot of work

This week i learned that white bread has bleach in it and that processed meat has ammonia in it, Who know. I still want to learn after effects. This week the only thing that made me mad was that people kept walking into shots on the video hunt but what can you do. This week i was happy that the videos for the group i was in turned out well. That about it for this week. 

The article about hurricane Sandy was shocking in its self. The first thing was that people would fake a photo for something as serious as a hurricane. The second shocking thing was that the person that photoshoped the picture of the statue of liberty was to lazy to take there own picture of a storm but instead used a well known picture. The last shocking thing is that there is a program that can tell you what photos were used to make a potoshoped image, That is really cool to me because i have wondered if there was something like that but never looked it up 

The article on the new apple computer was interesting, i mean personally i use a Alienware but it was still interesting. The first thing that was shocking to me is the fact that there is no CD drive, That ties in with the next shocking thing which is that if u needed to read a cd on your new computer you would have to buy a usb CD drive. In my opinion that is just apple trying to take more money from its costumers. The last thing that shocked me was the fact that the usb CD drive is $79, That is ridiculous for something as simple as a CD drive. 

This week i learned about different  types of cameras and shots. I still want to learn after effects.
This week i was happy to get 10 shots done for the group project. But i was not happy that i still do not have the demos done. That is about all for this week. 

The first thing i learned is that Actors have the most difficult and the most dangerous job on the set.
I would have thought it would have been someone using heavy equipment or someone running the rigging.

Second thing is  Actors, in order to do their best work, must be working in a safe environment.
I didn't think this because some of the sets in movies look kind of dangerous but it is still good acting. That could just be cgi but you never know.

last thing is that while taping only the director should be talking to the actors. I thought that most of the people on the set would have to talk to the actors for safety reasons but i guess not. 

Well the first thing i learned from the Disney article is that they are making more princess movies. In my opinion This makes no scene i mean you think the would come up with a new idea but they were like "NO MORE PRINCESSES". I don't know if its just me but it seems like Disney is running out of ideas for movies.  

The second thing that i learned is that they are making this movie to try to get people to not hate Latinos. which makes no scene ether because only kids are going to see this not adults and adults are the ones who are showing hate

Last thing i learned is that Disney is pushing  to increase the diversity. Which shocks me because i never really thought that Disney would use kid films do do so.

This week I learned That I Photoshop is not just for messing with photos it can also be used to draw things. The thing that made me happy this week was finishing my sound story and having time to think of some ideas for projects and concept art. The one thing that made me mad this week is that i couldn't figure out how to make my blog background the way i wanted. I am looking forward to learning premiere because i have never used before.   

At the beginning of this i had no clue who Joss Whedon even was. But reading on i found out he helped make one of my favorite movies "The Avengers". The thing that really shocked me was the fact that Whedon Worked on both "The Avengers" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".   Even Though I Was not a fan of Buffy I know a lot of people who were or still are.

His first message hit home with me. Because i have had several ideas but not one of them became a real thing. Well i had some things that i made but nothing big. So his never give up on an idea shocked my mind. The big reason i did is the fact that I'm helping a friend with a project and I get to draw the art. While i am not that good of an artiest I agreed to help. The entire time we have been working on the prep work i have been trying to draw the characters that I was assigned to draw but I i hit a wall, Because i am trying to change my art style for this. At time i would get depressed about it but that advice from Whedon has made me want to work harder on this project.

His second peace of advice is "Sometimes a Drought Comes Right Before the Downpour" This just means that thought a director or an artiest may go through a period of time where they don't make anything good or anything at all, There is something coming that will change that. Whether it is a new idea or an opportunity of a life time. This is true for most of the big names in the media business, from Tim Burton to Whedon its one of those things in the business you can't avoid. 

Next is "Never Lose Sight of the Emotional Stakes". This is just saying no matter who or what your character is, or what basic rules or guidelines that the genre set for you, that character must maintain there basic values. Yes there emotions may change but there set and range of emotion can't change from scene to scene(unless a dramatic event happens). This is one of the things that can make or break a movie.

"Build the Structure, Then Hit the Playground". This is referring to to the fact that, Yes production is the most fun part about making a movie but it is not the most important. The most important part is the pre production and that takes up 90% of the time for making the movie.

Through reading this i learned three big things, first don't give up on ideas. Second sometimes you have to go through a period of not getting anything done to form a good project. lastly i learned when working a project don't change the characters a lot at one time its bad for the story line.

The only thing i want to know is what else has Whedon worked on in the movie business?

When reading the article on Tim Burton's newest movie, It shocked me to find out that is is an extended version of his old short film Frankenweenie. Seeing how i have seen most of his films and have liked the majority of them i added this movie to my must see list. From what i understand this remake is made in the same was as the original and many other of Burton's films. This process of stop motion that he does is not only time consuming but it is difficult, for if one mistake is made it is hard to fix. Though this story is not entirely new i still expect it to be high up on my favorite movies list, not just because of the animation style but because it has sentimental value. As a child i was not big on films until i watched Burton's original Frankenweenie, after watching that i watched my favorite movie "The nightmare Before Christmas". At the time i didn't know that it took 24 pictures to make just one second of those films but i do now, And seeing how they are both one and a half hours to two hours, That is around 172,800 pictures. The other thing that shocked me is that the new Frankenweenie is in 3D. This is shocking because it is in black and white, and i have never seen that. Like the makers of the film i didn't even think 3D could be black and white.

 

Well this week i learned Image resizing and some other important things for using Photoshop. This week i was happy to finally have saved up the money to buy a bamboo drawing tablet, and to learn more about Photoshop. This week the only thing that me mad was the act that I have had the worst of luck, first my truck breaks down and than my laptop's display driver stopped working for 30 minutes, so i got no time to figure out my tablet. the thing i want to learn most is how to use my tablet so i can use it in Photoshop to make projects and help my friend with a web comic.   

When reading this article i was shocked to find out that 3-D movie sales were going down. With the only 3-D movies i last saw being Avatar and the Avengers, I didn't know that prices would go down. In my opinion this is surprising but not unexpected, The first movie i ever saw in 3-D was Nascar 3-D ( Yes my family is all rednecks), It used 3-D to show wheels and cars flying off the screen at the viewers. But after that all the movies i saw in 3-D didn't use it in the same way, it was like watching a normal film just with stupid glasses on. Than came the movie Avatar by James Cameron, this movie used 3-D to show things flying out of the screen and to show depth in the world of Pandora. The drop in 3-D movie prices does is not reasonless, it is because that most of the movies made in this format are just normal movies that everyone has to ware glasses to.

I also learned that many film makers are just making old movies int 3-D. In my opinion this could go one of two ways that depends on the movie. For example the classic movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It was a great movie, but if there were to bring it into 3-D and put it in theaters again they would make a good amount of money. This is because still now that movie has a huge fan base, all the original fans and some new ones would go to see the 3-D version. But if they take a bad movie that not many people liked and turned it into 3-D they would make some money but not much after a few weeks.    

Lastly i learned that there are 40 movies that are set to move int theaters this year. In my opinion This is not worth my time. Yes I may go see two or three movies in 3-D this year but that is only if they prove there worth the time and money.

TesT

1). There were two things i liked most about this class. First off the fact that its hands on learning and not just like normal school were u sit and take notes all day. Than there was the animating, It was a new skill i learned and that i will use in the years to come.

2) I have to say till this point i didn't really have a favorite project. But when i was working on my portfolio i realized i really liked my rotoscope. So i would have to say rotoscoping was my favorite for the class.

3)The only thing i didn't like about the class was the math packets we had to do at the start of the year and how by the end of working on a project u hate it even if it not that bad.

4) My least favorite project had to be my 2D short, it was just bad. if i would have figured out some techniques than it would have been better, but o well thing happen.

5)Well when i graduate i plan on going to collage for any number of things. I will ether go to NCCC for 2 years and than transfer out of just go straight to a 4 year collage. I ether want to go to R.I.T of the art institute of Pittsburgh.

6)Yes. This class was the greatest choice i ever made for my future. This class will help me with any one of the career choices. From the animation helping me ether with video game art and design or animation shows.

7)For them to not think this is a class where you just sit back and get free credits like most classes. No this is a class teaches you things that can only be learned by hard work, But it is worth the work in the end.

8)Just have to say that this class has been the best thing to happen in my entire school life, i have learned so much. This class even help me make up my mind on what i want to do when i get out of school.

Another week down, and we had to turn in our final projects and i was happy with mine. It wasn't the best, (Gram..... or Haley when she finishes hers) But i was happy with what i had. We didn't learn anything this week and there is not much i want to learn till next year in video. there are two thing that made me happy this week, Getting my project done and on a non-school matter Diablo 3 came out (im on the end of act 3 of 4). There was not really anything that made me mad this week. so all in all it was a good week.

yet again the week is over. um we didn't learn much because its down to the last few weeks. I am happy that i was able to buy Flash, and was able to get it to work. The only thing that made me mad was the fact that i haven't had much time to work on this stuff at home. other than that this week has been a good one.

well this week went by to fast. i tried to get as mush done as i could on my final project. But i am happy with what i have done so far. the only thing I'm mad about is the fact that due to this project i now hate the song code monkey. the only thing i want to learn st this point is how to make an animation in only frame-by-frame. I also have gotten started on my portfolio and it is going well.

Well were back to doing blogs, and there is still nothing we leaned to talk about. this week i got some of my Code Monkey animation done and i am happy with it. i Think i might take it have over the week end to work on it. The only thing i didn't like was the fact that flash now acts like its going to crash Every few 30 seconds, plus for some reason my pen tool changes designs every other day.

well we learned about our final project this week, im thinking im going to do the song Code Monkey. i liked that i was able to start my independent study project and i got a good part done. the only bad thing is that i have work this weekend so i will have to work on my project when i get home. i have started trying a new style of animation which is just frame-by-frame animation but it is still more fun than just tweens. also i am looking forward to the skills competition because i will get to use what i can do in 3D to put towards a project for a big contest.

well like most of the on the weeks this one has been spent on working on projects, so we didn't learn much. But we did learn about the 11 second club project which i have most of the modeling done for and i really like what i have so far. the only thing that i didn't like this week was how i forgot allot of stuff in flash, that made me a Little mad. other than that this was a good week, I'm happy how my project is turning out.

there not much to say about this week. i finished my 3D short, but i made the models when i didn't fully understand how models worked so there movement are a little messed up. also the idea i had where the camera goes into a 1st-person view worked the in cheetah but when i rendered it it didn't work as well. But i got it done and its not the best of my 3D works but i still like it.

This week we didn't learn much about 3D, but we did take a quiz on 3D and i was happy with my grade. I'm still not as happy as i could be with my 3D short but it will have to do. 

Well its cool that we got to watch the movie  9. it the 2nd time i have seen this movie and its still good. the one thing that makes me mad it that there is no falling action at all, at one point it seems to fall but that the action comes back because a giant explosion didn't kill the stupid robot. All in all i like the movie the steam-punk vibe it has makes it really interesting.

well we didn't learn anything this week, and im looking forward to the demo on lip sinking even though i will most likely not be using it. Im also looking forward to the next project just to see whats its about.

this week was normal. i worked on my 3D short and its going well. i have everything built and some animation done, play i finished rendering some of the shorter parts. We didnt learn much this week, but i learned a few things while working on my project. im not happy about how some things turned out with building stuff for my 3D short but it will work for my story, so its not that big of a deal. The only thing i want to learn is hoe to take 2 objects in 3D and make them into 1 object. If anyone knows a video on how to do that please comment with a link.

this week was good. i got my 3d logo done and it looks good. so im happy about that, but im a little mad about some of the camera movements. we learned some more on 3d this week, but not much. i still want to learn how to make a glow in the background. not much else to say it was just a normal week

well this week we learned about 3D, and it went well. I have learned allot and i have figured out how to do a bunch of stuff from simple animations to making figures. there isn't much i want to learn, but one of those things is particle systems. If we dont learn them today. I really like 3D, but i don't like how easily you can mess something up in the program....    ok so we did learn particle systems and the the coolest thing so far.
the only thing that i dont like is the long demos but there worth it to learn about 3D.

well this week we learned about 3D. we learned every thing from how to put an object on the stage to how to change that object into something else. i didn't rly like the long demos but its worth it to learn 3d. im looking forward to learning animation in 3D. but im not looking forward to the demos that come with it. besides the demos the week has been boring, it consisted of me making things on cheetah, from a mace to gears for my logo. i have in idea of my logo of a bunch of gears and when the camera flys through the gears it flys out of an opening and it turns out to be a lock. i plan on making it have a steam punk style and call it steam lock studios.
