1) I learned that the first movie on record to use effects was Trip to the Moon in 1902. I never knew this but i have to imagine that the effects in this movie must be really bad but they did pave the way for movie like avatar so i respect this movie.
2) Secondly I learned that the effect business is taking a git at the moment. People are being fired left and right. This comes as a shock to me because with every movie now a days using effects you think they would be doing well but i guess not.
3) lastly I learned that the Life of Pi, which has gone on to make more than $500 million in worldwide ticket sales.This is also shocking because up until a few weeks ago I had never heard of it, and now its making millions of dollars. I mean I never even saw an article on it and i read about new movies all the time.
My only question is what is causing the effect business to fall apart like this?
