1) well fist i leaned that Tony DeRose is the senior scientist at Pixar studios. I didn't know this before because i have never been big on Pixar movies, but it is surprising how he explains how math is used to make movies and video games. this is cool because i had never seen anyone explain it all in this way before.
2) Secondly i learned that the math that is used in the making of these things is not just for rendering it is also used to power the physics engines for 3D movies and video games. This is very interesting because this adds all the most important elements of these things like wind and gravity.
3) Lastly I learned that Merida's (from brave)hair is made of 100,000 individual elements. this is shocking because the most complex model i have ever made was just under 1000 elements and that was the entire model. the model for her hair is so detailed i am shocked that they used it.
My question is how long did it take to render a few seconds with Merida's hair under the effects of the physics engines?
